Sinisa
s(i)-ni-sa
Origin:Slavic
Other Origin(s):Greek
Meaning:Son
Sinisa, a South Slavic boy's name with medieval Serbian and Greek origins, first appeared in the 14th century under Simeon Uroš. During his rule, Simeon, better known as Sinisa, was the self-professed Emperor of Serbs and Greeks from 1356 to 1370. He established a separate state in Thessaly and Epirus, now part of modern-day central Greece. Derived from the Serbo-Croatian term sin, meaning "son," Sinisa carries a legacy of familial bonding and historic roots.
