Lindy

Lindy is a gender-neutral name of Spanish origin. It translates to “beautiful,” originating from the Spanish word “linda.” Lindy is most commonly known as a shortened version of a number of names, such as Belinda, Melinda, Lindsay or Lyndon. It can also be used to refer to the Lindy Hop, a dance that originated in Black communities in Harlem during the 1920s and pervaded through the swing era of the 30s and 40s. With this in mind, Lindy’s natural levity carries with it a cool factor of cultural significance which makes it stand out as so much more than a nickname.
