Yeshayahu

Steeped in religious significance, Yeshayahu or Isaiah is a boy’s name that means “God is salvation.” The moniker appears in the Hebrew Bible several times, as the name of an important prophet, a priest of the Tribe of Levi, the son of Hannahiah, and one of the six sons of Jeduthun. The story goes that when God asks whom he shall send to spread his message, Yeshayahu readily volunteers.
