Barley

Barley is a boy's name of Old English origin, from bærlic, meaning “of barley.” Barley may also come from the Old English words bār and leah, meaning “wild boar meadow.” This delightfully rustic appellation became a surname for those living on or near meadows of barley who perhaps also grew and sold the grain.
